Which AI video model gets physics right

A spill is a hard physics problem: liquid, ice, glass and a surface, all interacting. We gave 30 models the same tipping glass on a wooden table and watched what happened to the water. The grid includes the September 18, October 19, October 22 and October 23 additions; each model page dates its own run.

What the side-by-side shows

Veo 3.1 throws the most convincing spill, with droplets and a puddle that spreads. Veo 3.1 Lite, surprisingly, produced the biggest splash on the roster. Seedance 2.0, Wan 3.0, MiniMax H3 and Veo 3.1 Fast all get a believable spill. The failures are specific: Wan 2.7 grew the ice cubes to nearly the size of the glass; Seedance 2.5's water turned to a translucent haze; Hailuo 2.3's ice stayed inside a glass that never quite tipped; Kling Pro's glass ends up standing again. FLUX 3 Max, added on October 19, beats them all: the glass tips, the water pools across the table and the three cubes slide apart. None of the 22 October additions beats it: Wan 3.0 Prime and Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 spill convincingly but multiply the ice cubes, HeyGen Video cuts away before the spill, both LTX 2.5 tiers splash without tipping the glass, and both Kandinsky 6.0 models end with round blobs of ice. Kling 4.0, added on 23 October, tips the glass and pools the water convincingly, but cuts twice in five seconds and ends on two cubes standing in the puddle.

  1. 1.FLUX 3 Max the water pools and the cubes slide apart: the most convincing spill on the roster.
  2. 2.Veo 3.1 droplets, a rolling glass and a puddle that spreads like water.
  3. 3.Veo 3.1 Lite the biggest splash in the set, from the cheapest Veo tier.
  4. 4.Seedance 2.0 a clean tip and spill with ice that slides.
  5. 5.Wan 3.0 a convincing spill with the cubes staying cube-sized.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI video generator has the most realistic physics?

On a slow-motion spill, Veo 3.1 and, unexpectedly, Veo 3.1 Lite produced the most water-like water. Seedance 2.0, Wan 3.0 and MiniMax H3 were convincing too. Wan 2.7 and Seedance 2.5 both broke in different ways.
